An achievement that stands out in my mind that I have completed is my school work. As of right now I am almost a senior in high school. With the help of my parents I have gotten good grades. They are very important to me for my future. With good grades I can get ahead in school, college and my future jobs. I want to take advantage of my last year to get good grades and get scholarships to attend a good college. In school I have made Honor Roll every year of my high school career. I am comfident that I can get ahead in school, and next college.

In the news I have heard many things about illegal immigration. Many people are for and against it. This issue is important to me because I am half Mexican and it is my people that are being in a way discriminated against for being of a hispanic background. It is wrong that people do things illegally but it is for a good cause that immigrants cross into the US, because they come to get a better future. If these people work, they are paying taxes which come out of their check. Many people don't know and complain that the illegal immigrants are stealing their money. They are not stealing jobs from the Americans either. The jobs that they are occupying is the jobs that no one else wants to take or could see themselves doing. There are many people that would like to make a wall to seperate the U.S. from Mexico. It is to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the U.S. without the right permission or legal status. This wall will cost alot of money that people do not have or want to spend.

There are many people in my life that have impacted me in positive ways. My mother is one of them. I always have looked up to her as my hero. She is a hard working, intelligent, and noble woman. She has shown me good values by her actions and also by telleing me. She has shown me to always work for what you want in life. Nothing is going to be easy or free. One thing she has taught me about people is to always respect and be kind to each person.

I would like to attend college because I have always known that it is the right thing to do. With college all I see is a positive outcome from it. After college I see myself entering in the FBI. It has been a dream job for me since I was very young. The FBI has called my attention from movies, shows, and a few actual FBI agents I have met. this is my dream that i would like to accomplish. But to do so I must first go to college and study very hard.

1. In this week the most motivating part has been the study group. In the class our teacher helps us with the reading and notes. She gives us advice on how to study and offered to help us after class and even gave us her number to call her if we had any questions. Also the other students in the class help one another.

2. The most challenging part has been the obstacle courses we went to in Ashland, NE. I went there not knowing what I was getting myself into. I saw the course above me and never thought I would get through it alone. But with the encouragement of some fellow summer scholars who I bearly knew, I did it and survived!

3. In this week at the Residence Hall I noticed that I was more involoved with the people and the activities. Usually I am a very shy and quiet person. This week I have noticed that I am louder and talk with everyone around me.

4. One of the many experiences that have made a positive impact on me was the living on the college campus. It made me understand how a college student feels on those first days as a freshman student.
